Fenced In Quilt Pattern

I am so excited to announce that our first quilt pattern is available for purchase! This quilt combines piecing and machine applique. I've been so excited to have this project up as it's a pattern I started working on many years ago.

Included in the pattern is a second colorway, Fenced In Rose Garden, which was inspired by deep purple roses and peonys. Besides new colors, this version also reverses the rail fence blocks so the light colors start in the middle. It also reverses the flowers so the centers are dark.

Although I absolutely love flowers, my brain keeps seeing this pattern turn into a basketball quilt. I imagine the rail fence blocks turning into a hardwood floor, applique basketballs bouncing across the quilt instead of flowers, and the borders in team colors. When I told this to my hubby, he said the Boston Celtics' court is a parquet floor and would look perfect for this quilt! He was on to something!

Hi! I'm Jen, a quilt pattern designer and teacher. I founded Snapdragon Quilting in the spring of 2022 in memory of my beloved Grandma Louise, a skilled seamstress and crafter who grew beautiful snapdragons in her garden. I've been sewing for as long as I can remember and began passionately crafting quilts of my own creation in 2006. My quilt patterns bring bold and vibrant designs that blend traditional piecing methods with contemporary techniques. I love to play with color and contrast so you'll find lots of layout and color options in my patterns. Whether you're new to quilting or making your 100th quilt, you're in the right place, because here at Snapdragon Quilting, quilt patterns make sense.
