Striped Hexi's - Quilt Block Pattern and Coloring Page

I've been keeping a secret and I just can't any longer. I've been working on a series of monthly pattern releases that contain EASY foundation paper pieced blocks. This you probably already noticed but the secret is that these blocks are going to come together in a sampler quilt for a quilt along!!! I am just so excited to be putting this together for 2023! The monthly patterns are FREE to my email subscribers (this is your hint to join my email list if you haven't already). If you've missed November and December's Newsletters, you can buy the patterns here.

December's pattern is called Striped Hexi's. The FPP is two simple equilateral triangles divided into stripes. I know you quilters out there can sew two strips of fabric together. Now is the time to learn FPP using this pattern and clear, detailed FPP instructions are in the pattern.

This photo from my lovely pattern tester, Amanda @stitchymomma, is a sneak peak of what December AND January's patterns look like together! When you add January's triangles to this December's, they make 40 blocks! I just love how the striped fabric she used adds to the blocks. It makes me want to pull out a fun print to fussy cut and make more blocks!

Play with color in December's blocks using the PDF link below.

I love using the "add a quarter" ruler for trimming my seams when doing FPP. Clicking on the link for this ruler helps keep the coffee pot filled.

I can't wait to see what you make with my new Striped Hexi's block pattern! Join the Snapdragon Quilting Club Show and Tell facebook group to share your project with me! Happy Quilting!

Hi! I'm Jen, a quilt pattern designer and teacher. I founded Snapdragon Quilting in the spring of 2022 in memory of my beloved Grandma Louise, a skilled seamstress and crafter who grew beautiful snapdragons in her garden. I've been sewing for as long as I can remember and began passionately crafting quilts of my own creation in 2006. My quilt patterns bring bold and vibrant designs that blend traditional piecing methods with contemporary techniques. I love to play with color and contrast so you'll find lots of layout and color options in my patterns. Whether you're new to quilting or making your 100th quilt, you're in the right place, because here at Snapdragon Quilting, quilt patterns make sense.
