This year was the Valley Quilters Guild's 43rd annual quilt show! These organized and friendly quilters know how to host a quilt show! They had door prizes, amazing baskets they raffled, and a stunning opportunity quilt that sponsored scholarships for kids in their community going to college. I loved that they had the quilter's picture on every info sheet on every quilt. What a great idea! People drove from all over southern California to be there and it was so fun to meet and chat with them all! Plus the drive in was beautiful. With all the rain we've been having this winter, the mountains were so green!
Of course the quilts were the stars of the event and I got to spend time enjoying each and every one of them. Check out the slide show to see some of my favorites. The first quilt won best of show and when I asked the winner for her secret, she said, "take 8 years to work on it!" She earned all those ribbons! The applique, embroidery, and quilting was stunning in this fall beauty. My mom and I particularly loved the quilt that said, "Wherever you go, bring your own sunshine". Isn't that the truth! There was also a series of darling quilts with Sunbonnet Sues in Hawaiian prints! They were all so cute. I loved the flip flop border and the Hawaiian flower quilting on the one I'm sharing. I usually take an additional close up photo of the information on the quilts but forgot this time. If you know who made these quilts, let me know so I can give them credit!

My sweet momma was my helper this trip and she does not hold back! I'm so lucky to have her not only because she's a great mom but also because she works so hard! Look at her go! We went to bed early after the first day and slept for 12 hours!
And here's a little peek at my booth all finished! I grew to really love that window. We had humming birds keeping us company and lots of sunshine! Plus having the Exploding Peppermints Quilt up front became an easy way to catch people's eye.
A big thank you to the Valley Quilters Guild for having me! I can't wait for their 44th annual show next year!
Happy Quilting!

P.S. the Never Under Estimate the Power of a Women😀 quilt was my contribution to the show.
